Design of UWB microstrip patch antenna with variable band notched characteristics

Recently lower frequency band 4.5−5.5 GHz is proposed by the ASEAN countries for 5G cellular application and therefore, it essential of designing an ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna particular band-notched characteristics. In this article, a compact tuning fork shape patch with variable characteristic has been application. The UWB achieved using simple partial ground plane. A pair ring slits (RSS) on plane added to achieve characteristic. large −10 dB bandwidth 7.8 (2.9−11 GHz) VSWR value less than 2 entire excepted notched bands (4.5−5.5 GHz). Moreover, peak radiation efficiency more 87% 27% band. notched-band shifted change in position RSS’s within vertical axis thus, characteristics have achieved.
